Gayatri mantra has been bestowed the greatest importance in Vedic dharma.This mantra has also been termed as Savitri and Ved-Mata, the mother of the Vedas.

“Om-bhur bhuvah swah Tat savitur varenyam Bhargo devasya dheemahi; Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat.”

“The literal meaning of the mantra: O God! You are Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Almighty. You are all Light. You are all Knowledge and Bliss. You are Destroyer of fear, You are Creator of this Universe, You are the Greatest of all. We bow and meditate upon Your light. You guide our intellect in the right direction. The mantra, however, has a great scientific importance too, which somehow got lost in the literary tradition.

D) DHIYO YO NAH PRACHODAYAT: Dhiyo (intellect), yo (who), nah (we all), prachodayat (guide to right Direction). O God! Deploy our intellect on the right path. Full scientific interpretation of the Mantra: The earth (bhur), the planets (bhuvah), and the galaxies (swah) are moving at a very great velocity, the sound produced is Om, (the name of formless God.) That God (tat), who manifests Himself in the form of light of suns (savitur) is worthy of bowing/respect (varenyam). We all, therefore, should meditate (dheemahi) upon the light (bhargo) of that deity (devasya) and also do chanting of Om. May He (yo) guide in right direction (prachodayat) our(nah) intellect dhiyo.

The life of the human being is a web of so many problems and issues. This is a place for development, or debacle, or spiritual enlightenment. Astrology can reveal the true structure of soul, or soulless, but also present the secrets of the problems. As Indian Astrology has many hidden secrets, numbers of issues, which need and demand the attention of everybody. If one needs any definition then it can be defined as Astrology analyses the life”.

Indian astrologers have two aims in their pursuance of the subject. One is general in which knowledge is obtained about direction place or country and time. This can be acquired through the shastra or subject. The analysis of various things found in the nature is made through this science. It is also a part of the Astrology. If one does not have the knowledge about place, direction and time, nothing can be done. Astrology is useful to guide as to when certain work is to be taken up or left off.

In general, outlook, the usefulness of this science is limited to such extent only. In this sastra Brahma is treated as Kaala Purusha. The influence of planets is also taken into account. The body of Kaala Purusha is divided into three parts such as best, average, (middle grade) below average, and least (worst). The nature has three elements hence the whole world is like that. These three qualities are called Satva, Rajo, Tamo. The rays of planets having satva qualities are the best. The rays of the planets having Rajo qualities have mixed effect. Planetary rays having Tamo qualities are poisonous. Planet having these three qualities in less quantity is weak and ineffective.

The good or bad aspects of planets are based upon these qualities, soft planets having the best qualities show their influence on the places where they are focused. People living in such places are bestowed with noble qualities. Cruel planets having poisonous rays show their effect on the people where the rays are focused. Mixed rays show the mixed results in certain places where they are cast. Weak rays cannot show any effect on the people. These effects are seer on the native according to his time of birth and planetary position and the effect of their rays either good or bad.

In Astrology, the fixation of certain mauhrata has some specialty. It is a very good secret. Planets moving in the endless space contain noble, average and mixed effects in their rays. Their effects will not be always neutrals. It will be different according to the time. In such cases, the Tamo guna will be good to carry on a great project. It cannot be said, as blind belief that Mauhrata fixed for various deeds will show their effect. Therefore, it is totally scientific. Mauhrata fixed with carelessness will not give good results. There is a method to ward off evil effects of planets by wearing precious stones. This is found in Astrology. It is not useless. Due to the influence of solar family in the sky, some effect is seen on the stones. The four elements also get the influence such as earth, fire, air and water. From these four, one element (tatwa) is formed. Stones formed under various planetary influences possess some effect. It will do well to us if wear such stones. Good results can be expected from suitable stones, otherwise reverse the result. We have to find out the quality of the stone, its luster, then only we can get expected results after wearing them. Persons born in waning period of the Moon cannot get the helpful rays of the Moon. Such people will have calcium deficiency. Pearl the stone for Moon can set right the bad effect. It is not correct to think that planets give good or bad results to the people they are neither friends nor foes to us. Only they indicate such kind of results.

The role of Astrology in dispelling the pessimistic attitude in human beings is greater than that of other sciences. It encourages the human beings who are dejected and disappointed and make them again work oriented. It gives inspiration by enlightening others with the aspects of future so that one can mould himself according to the future developments. If we look into the spiritual side, Astrology gives guidance about proper time for it and ways and means to achieve it hence this science seems reasonable and logical too. All calculations in Astrology start from dot (zero) which is the replica of shapeless, structure-less lord Brahma. Every dot is similar, without any length or width extra. Only existence is there. If the dot moves further it is transformed into a line. Parabrahma (supreme God) is also found in the, same method’ IEko ham bahusysma’ becoming the basis of Maya.

This dot or zero represents the brahma and the. Line represents the ‘maya’ with the conjunction of these two, geometry, algebra, arithmetic etc., and come out. In Astrology Sun and Moon are very important planets. Sun been treated as male planet. Surya atma jagata. Sun is the structure of soul. Moon is mind. Chandrama manaso jatha. It means that soul+mind, Male and nature (female), their unification led to the formation of this world with living and nonliving. Pacha Bhootas present the five planets Mars etc., wherever you see you will only find these pancha bhootas and prakruthi Bhootas. Therefore, on spiritual side also Astrology fits very well. However, it is more than worldly general sciences and spiritual sciences. While integrating the both, Astrology gives inspiration to the people infusing self-confidence and making them work oriented.
